Default Re: Paranoid of “sticky key” problem

Ok folks, I'm starting to get confused on exactly what the "sticky key" problem actually is. In one thread I will read that the issue is that the key will not TURN. In another thread I will read that the key actually gets stuck in the switch and you cannot pull it back out. Are both of these correct? In many different threads I have read that they had the sticky key issue but don't really go into detail as to what the problem was. So please help me understand exactly what to be looking for.
I will say that I have had a time or two where the key will not turn but then I move the steering wheel and it "unlocks" it and the key will then turn as normal. I have noticed this on other cars I've owned and accepted it as a "normal" feature of a locking steering column.
So, after doing this "sticky key" fix...does the steering wheel still lock?
