This has happened here before but the cause escapes me at the moment.
I shall continue searching.
EDIT
I have searched and I think it is a failure of the fuel filter pressure control valve or even the wrong filter being fitted. Gas gets past the pressure control diaphragm in the filter and gets through to the evap canister.
