Morning all.
Just gone to fire up the X fire this morning and found it stuck in park.

It fires up normally, no indication of any problems at all. Have not been able to check if there was a black square or the p symbol on the dash, (I have had to get a lift to work) and X fire is still at home.

There have been no issues or work done on the car in the last 3-4 months.

I am reading past posts but nobody appears to have written up a solution to this issue.

I am aware of the manual override, but what will that do than allow the car to be moved to a repair centre?

I am still reading, but would welcome tips on what to do next.

done some more reading:-
1. Brake switch faulty....is this a common problem?
2. Dead battery....car cranked and started with no problem, so probably not the cause.
