WALLA Guy's. Just found out the hard way and by accident that you have to have the KEY in the IGNITION. Didn't even think about that! Too used to American cars where the glove box light and the cigar lighter work even if the key is not in the ignition. That makes more sense to me! I ordered a brand new old stock switch assembly for $20.00. Put it in and it still didn't light up. Tried the cigar lighter and another no go. Somehow thought of turning the key on (God works in mysterious way's) and every thing worked. Shut the box door and the light went out, just as it's supposed too. I just left the new switch assembly in and have one less thing to be of concern to me.

So if you have glove box light problems or cigar lighter problems, turn the key on and see if everything works.
