Check your coolant level. Is it near the top of the reservoir?
Check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes ( most auto parts stores will do it for free) write that DTC number down. Get the exact number. Then clear that code. If the code is cleared it may turn the warning light off.
Does the fan work? Turn on the A/C and check if the fan runs.
