Coming back from a road trip I heard a fluttering noise and pulled over to check it out. The upper windshield molding had detached from the clips and was flapping around. Is there any way to reattach the clips or anyplace I can get a replacement? I checked with the dealer and the silver ones are no longer available. A new black set is $740. Used ones on Ebay are $360 just for the top piece and looks scratched up. Any suggestions?
It sounds as if it was improperly attached in the first place. you must be very careful when attaching to properly engage the clips mounted on the car. if you look at it you can see how they go. I would also use double sided tape, 3m will work.
