Default Re: CD-Changer for the NAV receivers

Ok I see where you are headed. Seemingly you could use a set of relays and a switch to accomplish 90% of what you are looking to do (would require a CD to be in the changer playing). Of course the trigger for the ipod would not be automatic unless you incoporate a voltage sense circuit that would be tied into the audio line from the ipod. of course you purchased the ipod adaptor from becker and getting that to work would be a winfall for simplicity.

I agree with you that having the songs come up on the radio is useless, partialy due to location and small screen size that limits data, making the search a song by sone process. I would expect some latency from song to song.

While the upside on the product development is simply a call by the aftermarket not Becker. It is mostly Chrylser specifying what content they want in the car. Understand that vehicle development is typically 3 years behind the current trends making it hard for them to keep up (the aftermarket is typically in line or at most 9 months behind).

The guys at Blitsafe were willing at one time to develop a standalone adaptorif the first person covered the development costs. They might still be interested, but then again that was over a year ago when I approached them.
