I do that as well, I use Meguiars Headlight Protectant these days. Used when the headlights are clean it seems to do the job.
I used the last of my Blue Magic Headlight Lens Restorer when I did this earlier this weekend. Just wanted to use up the remaining product. I usually use Meguiar's PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish on the vehicles. This product also does a terrific job of removing the haze that occurs on my 1995 Jeep Wrangler Rio Grande windows throughout the canvas top..
