My 300 did that, it showed some codes my code readers missed altogether. I guess they were Chrysler specific codes, they sure saved me a headache when the intake manifold failed to shorten or lengthen the intake path.
I think my favourite reader is my $99 BlueDriver, I have four. It is handy as it is cordless and works on my iPad. It specifies what feature in the emissions system requires to be reset.
