I have had the car scanned numerous times and it is showing a mass air flow sensor problem. I have replaced two of them, first with just an advance auto part and then when that didn’t work, I replaced with a Bosch since the OEM was no longer available. Still no luck, I then replaced the cam and crank sensors. Still no luck, then replaced the fuel filter, air filter, nothing helped! I then as a last effort I carried it to the local dealership, they kept it for a couple of weeks and where having trouble finding the problem, they tried another new mass air flow sensor and that didn’t fix, they called me back and said, that the valve covers where leaking and it needed new plugs. They then wanted $2800 to change the valve cover gaskets and plugs. I declined and told them I would be there to pick my car up the next morning, he called me back and said he talked to his service manager and they said they can do the same work for $1500. That made it even worse, I picked my car up the next day and just cause it needed it, I changed the valve cover gaskets, plugs, new vacuum lines from one side to the other on the valve covers. Still no improvement. That’s been several months ago, I don’t know where to go from here???
Have you thought of replacing the throttle body? The sensor in it may be faulty. Possibly the accelerator pedal assembly.
Any codes been set?
How many miles on this car?
