Thanks for all of the input guys. I really lucked out. I flew down to Vegas today and took a look at it. It could have been much worse; one big blob, and a lot then little spots all over the hood and part of the left fender. I have a battery tender hooked up to it so the hood wasn’t closed all the way and have some on the left side edge of the hood. I had to fly back this evening and had a lot of other things to do while down there so I couldn't’ spend as much time as I would have liked.

I was able to loosen an edge of the big blob and it easily came off in one piece. I took a large sponge with hot water in it and soaked the rest of the hood and was able to scrape it off, one piece at a time with my thumbnail. I was afraid to use a brush or abrasive scrubbing sponge. Got most of it off and then took it down to the car wash to see what I still had to deal with. I have some more of the tiny spots left and the side edge of the hood. I feel blessed I was able to get it off with only some elbow grease, and one sore thumbnail. Next time I go down I’ll have it looking good as new. The finish looks unharmed. Whew!
