Run into a bit of trouble over the last week with my beloved little Crossfire - a common problem from what I've read on the forums here, the key not turning in the lock barrel tumbler.

I had the car recovered and it is currently at the specialist dealers in Bristol who after running some diagnostics have quoted me an extortionate £1,600 including VAT to replace the barrel and two keys. Not to mention that the part may take up to 16 weeks to arrive.

I'm sure there will be some savvy owners out there that would either be able to fix the problem themselves much cheaper, or sell the car for parts to other Crossfire owners. All this couldn't have come at a worse time personally as I'm moving abroad early October and my intention was to put the car on Autotrader for around £2.5k over the next few weeks and recoup some of what I paid for it before I moved. There is also a personal plate with the car which I got valued online at £500 last week.

The car has a part service history and MOT expiry is 24.04.2020 with just over 100,000 miles on the clock.The color of the car is grey with no modifications.

At this point I am open to the best offer - the dealers have said they are happy to have the car on the forecourt for a couple of weeks.
