I guess that's a hangover term from my days working in counter intelligence in Berlin, when they called us Amis and we all called the Russians or Russkis, or even Ivans. It wasn't meant to be negative, just an old habit. I meant to say that the German firms, all of them, due serious engineering and use these systems, so it might be a bit of a reach for a lone tech here to go up against them to invent a way to get around all their work. Then again, it was one guy teaching an engineering class at a university that discovered and proved VW made the software fake the emissions stuff. Cost - over $40 billion and counting and a few raids on their companies and some top execs in jail. So it does happen. No offense met.
