Default Re: supercharger label

Zeracer
The signature plate (on the supercharger) appeared on all 3.2 Mercedes Benz performance models to ID the name of the individual builder of each motor. This was used by AMG to identify the name of the engine builder. If there was a trend of engine failures by one of the builders, immediate actions could be taken to resolve any build process or parts issues. Many owners looked upon the signature plate as confirmation it was a hand built motor, vs a standard 3.2 N/A.

When Daimler offered these motors to Chrysler for the SRT6 model, those engine plates were removed, since it was sold as a Chrysler, not a Mercedes Benz model. This was the reason SRTSIX (Karl) and later SparkieSRT6 supplied these information plates, others included the VIN#. There were other suppliers on the internet, such as the one you have on your engine. The profile of the Crossfire coupe is incorrect as well, it is a non SRT6 coupe profile. That supplier had no clue about our SRT6 coupe or Roadster.

Enjoy your SRT6....
