I don't know the history here, but I assume you believe there is something wrong with the BCM you have. Rather than pay a dealer a hundred dollars or more to user their scanner, if they still have one as both types are obsolete and not supported, you can buy a used BCM cheap to swap out to diagnose your problem. If you still have the problem it's not your BCM. You then have a spare if ever needed or resell it.
