Not posing as any kind of an expert but I think Daimler has locked things up for the dealers with their scan tools. We can buy the generic ones and do some things but just keep that in mind when you buy one. I don't think you can go wrong for the price. I bought the Launch CReader 619 for a lot more. It is supposed to reset ABS and airbag faults. The problem is that it only works on cars built after 2010. I have a tool chest drawer full of scanners and find using the least expensive one does everything I need most of the time.
