Don't forget that there are 4 O2 sensors too. You may be able to use the signal from the simulator to feed all 4 but I think you may end up with OBD codes being thrown since the sensors either side of the CAT are looking for a differential to determine efficiency. You definitely need to keep the heaters connected like the schematic shows since the ECU checks for heater function and O2 signal, and you get a separate code thrown respectively.
