Just to make it 100%, if you had the top trim blow off or break off while driving, the stainless kit will not work. It is an overlay and does need that top trim there to make it work. That being said, we did hear some craziness that a customer said "they made it work" without the top trim. So anything is possible, but not that we recommend it.
