A little squirt of WD40 and a soft cloth may help as-well (test it on a painted area inside the door-jamb to be certain it will not harm the paint... NOTE: paper towels may cause scratches as they are made of paper.
Be sure to apply a few coats of wax at the location as the WD40 will remove the sap and the underlying wax..
