Default Re: Just got an airbag light with "09" code

I dove into it a little deeper.... DAS provided more information than what I had with my Launch Scanner and gave me a resistance value to shoot for. I was showing 15 ohms resistance when measured at the connector behind the kick panel. Someone else had obviously been in there before because the kick panel was loose and the screw was still in place when I pulled it out. I will pop a washer back on to the screw and hopefully that will secure it.

It turned out to be the connection itself to the "Squib" (explosive). I pulled the connector apart and used a folded piece of paper and contact cleaner to clean the contacts and then I squeezed them together a little tighter.

Plugged it back in and I had ZERO resistance. When I plugged the kick panel connector back in, the resistance was 3 ohms which is halfway between the 2-5 ohms it wants.

All good now, fault was cleared and didn't immediately return like it was over and over again.

Hopefully this information is useful for someone else..... although I didn't find anything in the search box that duplicated this problem and/or fault code.
