You didn't say if you checked Needwings suggestion?
Common for idle to be high or eratic because of vacuum leaks, it appears it started after you changed the CPS and it is very possible or likely you accidentally disconnected a vacuum line.
If you already checked, sorry no other ideas but good luck.
