Re: remove vacuum line
Tuna glove, your picture in post #8 shows a broken/incomplete black fitting. The complete fitting has an outer black piece with two tabs which when pushed in allows the vacuum line to be pulled out about a half inch, but the red end will not easily pass out any further than the tabs which are on the outer black cover of the fitting. It would appear that the outer black piece is not necessary to keep the vacuum line locked in place and sealed. I would like to keep the original fitting complete and undamaged though it may not be necessary. My car has 7,000 miles, I'm the second owner and am confident the fitting on my supercharger is as it came from the factory.
You have been very helpful though as now I know better how to proceed in removal.
Tuna glove, when you disconnect the vacuum hose from the supercharger, does the red piece stay on the supercharger, or does it remain on the vacuum line and comes off the car with the line?
