Resoldered some questionable MICRO cracks, again it worked a couple times). Looked over a third time with absolute frustration getting PI$$ED at myself for not understanding why it was doing what it was doing (RCM NO START)!!!

FOUND IT, TOTALLY BY ACCIDENT! OK, maybe not by accident but it was QUITE a challenge since I knew it INVOLVED the RCM symptoms! The 5 wire connector (over the years) stressed the ring parts of the wired plug (inside the connector) and they broke off and separated causing an OPEN inside the plug (whenever a vibration occurred across any one or more of the THREE connectors!) I have tried almost 4 hours this morning sourcing those crimp-on connectors (needing two sizes) and cannot find them anywhere! I NEED THE 5 WIRE PIGTAIL with enough wire, to successfully fix my wiring. There is NO WAY I can repair those three 'tips' on the three that cracked/broke off!

I am ANNOYED MB/Fiat used those cheap brittle crimp-on parts and VERY HAPPY I finally found the problem. I then went and checked the rest of those RCM plug pins and am confident the rest are NOT stress cracked (using a headband loupe magnifier, in the hot and humid garage), sweating like a distance runner in the hot Arizona desert (no dig to Arizona, I probably lost about 5lbs total, which IS a good thing). NOTE plug @ pin # 4 in the two pictures, looks like that pin was overheating and slightly 'melting'? Suffice to say, 2 pictures attached! I want my baby fixed!!!!!

This was really great information.

Thanks for taking the pics and posting the issue along with a fix.

There is a XF write off here in Calgary. The owner has joined this forum (JNC852) and He's been selling off parts over the past few weeks. If you need the part, reach out to him, I can swing by, check it out. if good I could get it mailed off to you.

Send me a PM if you need assistance
