Default Re: when reality is worse than sci-fi

Next to “never exceed 4,000RPM’s”, “ listen to science" may be the most ridiculous advice ever, for is not truth. It is the SEARCH for truth. We constantly hypothesize, experiment and tweak. Once we learn something, it usually gives us the gift of several new unanswered questions.

There was no 'science' on the current viral outbreak. There were hypotheses, models.......but no real data until the virus existed in the West for two months. All of the 'science' was more 'opinion' and 'speculation' ...leading to models showing deaths in the millions

Compare the current outbreak of 8 billion people in world. Five months into outbreak: ONLY 3 million cases worldwide. That is 0.0375%.

With the 2017-18 flu season IN ONLY THE US: 45 million influenza illnesses, 21 million medical visits, 810,000 influenza-related hospitalizations, and 61,000 deaths.

No lockdowns in 2017-18. No $2.5 trillion in new debt. No Liberty lost. Stock and job markets intact. ?????

Inflammation is an immune response where white blood cells divide and grow, rebuilding tissue. But it is when our communication systems become the harbingers of social cancer-when dissenting opinions counter the “listen to science” when it runs against the grain of Facebook and Google, growing and growing until the lungs are covered in scar tissue, the eyes, ears, and mouth scab over, and deaf dumb and blind we abide.

Mayors and Governors has decreed that the lock down will continue until there is a definitive cure. Cure for the flu, the common cold, AIDS, and cancer. A cure for death. And we fought revolutions and wars. We have armed ourselves with the might of hell fire and yet we shrivel against the exhalations of a sniveling bureaucrat. How far the mighty have fallen.

We can make this evil an occasion for despair, or we can choose to see it as a “severe mercy” for our benefit, our joy, and ultimately, the belief in the magnificent resiliency of mankind.
