It is an interior piece that covers a small area behind the seat on the vertical wall where the speaker is. If you locate the speaker (lets use the passenger side speaker behind seat), look up to let corner of where carpet on vertical wall meet the plastic, it covers the "corner" that is missing. I just found that piece as Im replacing the back speakers!
I’m curious if this piece is not used for other areas of the car as well? Mine was in the trunk and have no idea how it got there. I’ve taken all the panels apart before to get to the door locking pump. So it could’ve been when I was doing that. PITA by the way. I’m going to check now where you said you found it and see if I have it missing from either side. No biggie, just curiosity now.
