Default Re: No sound from fuel pump and 04 Crossfire Coupe not crank

Under the hood on the passenger side near the rear you will see a large black plastic box. It is near the battery. Open that box and inside is the Relay Control Module. ( You can find a lot of info here by using the search box and type in RCM). You may have a bad relay that controls the power to the fuel pump. You can carefully remove the RCM from the car and inspect that relay. It controls the voltage to the fuel pump. However, as you describe that your car is trying to start ,but will not and the trouble developed not all at once as a complete shut down, but gradually. You can check for fuel pressure at the engine with a pressure gauge attached to the fuel rail. ( There is a port on the forward side of the engine on the passenger side. ) OR: The fuel pump and the fuel filter ( which is also a regulator) are located under the car on the passenger side just forward of the wheel. Jack up the car on the rear, remove the black plastic guard and you can easily see both the pump (it is the smaller of the two) and the filter. Disconnect the electric plug and check to see if you have 12 volts at the plug when the ignition switch is turned on. Please be careful and don't drive over yourself!.. If you have 12 volts at the connector then your pump is not operating, the RCM is working correctly and you must replace the fuel pump. Assuming all the wiring is intact and functioning properly. If you end up replacing the fuel pump. replace the filter at the same time, but be certain you replace the filter with the proper one. Some of the filters sold at auto parts stores do not have the necessary regulator built into the filter and they do not operate properly,
