I would assume you would handle touch-up paint with this product like any other paint protection product. To improve the adhesion of the paint, you would want to use a product like "Prep-Sol" to remove any wax, sealant, polish, etc to pre-treat the surface. That is al least what I would do. Regarding how permanent is the application of the SiO2 product, I think it is just like any other surface protection product. The Meguiar's product specifically notes repeat applications will be required over time. MHO

Claim to fame of the product is ease of use compared to the old standards. And Meguiar's now sells this Hybrid Ceramic in liquid bottle form, just to appease those of us that are skeptical. Again - MHO
