Default Question about secondary air injection pump

Greetings all! I have a question to see if anyone else has had this happen to them. So when I start my car first thing in the morning (only happens after a long period of not driving) The secondary air injection pump runs for the first 1 min of the engine being on and it sounds loud enough for me to hear it over the radio. This just started 2 days ago, I am wondering if I need to change it because I have never heard it before. I will take a video tomorrow morning if anyone wants to hear the noise. If that pump fails it will just hurt the emissions and kick out a check engine code? Thanks for any help in advance.
