I just did mine yesterday... Unfortunately you do have to remove the oil pan to get to the o-ring.

I think I my have a small leak at the sensor not enough to drip but is wicking up the wiring to behind the the stereo amplifier. Do I have to remove the oil pan and sensor as as described above or is it possible to replace o-rings etc from the outside. Thanks
