This is going into my Coupe but I do understand what you are saying. Just came out of a Drop Top Vette and I could not see anything with the top down. I really was hoping the Blue Tooth worked well and from reviews I have read it looks like they do. Now if I can get someone to share the best way to wire it to get the most out of the stock amp, I am rocking to the Oldies!
My knowledge on head units is somewhere between zero and zilch, I wired my Kenwood nav unit using two of the three pairs of preouts which gives me left/right and front/back fade control. Being quite deaf and tone deaf since birth I do not know why I bothered really but I thought it might be worthwhile anyway.
You can really feel those OEM speakers in the kidneys if you wanted to blow them apart. I ran four RCA cables to the amp and spliced them in. I may have a diagram somewhere.
