I asked if it's possible the sensors might have been switched when replacing the hydraulics but they said that can't be done. I don't know.
I replaced all of my cylinders with the ones Klaus provided.
It is possible to switch the lower and upper sensors on some of the cylinders. Not easy, but possible.
I do remember that some of the cylinders have only one sensor.
I had no top problem prior to replacing the cylinders except that both main lift cylinders were leaking.
The hydraulic fluid reservoir in the trunk will have to be watched closely after cylinder replacement as it will take a while for all cylinders to be at normal operating level.
I did not have to do any "re-programming" of anything. I first disconnected the negative battery cable, released the top at the windshield, manually unlocked the bow lock
and the tonneau cover lock, raised the rear bow and tonneau cover and propped them up and removed the top control module just to lay it over to get it out of the way.
I did not disconnect any hydraulic lines at the pump. I did disconnect the electrical plug at the top control module. Again, this is only to get the top control module out of
the way. It's difficult to get to the left main lift cylinder lower fastener with it in the way. Failure to remember to re-connect the electrical plug would most certainly result in
major top operation disruption.
My first attempt at operation after replacing the cylinders had a fair amount of pausing due to fluctuating fluid level. It was about the third or fourth full cycle operation
before the top operated smoothly up and down. I had to add fluid to the reservoir a couple of times. Klaus told me that the reservoir level should be
max line with the top
down and locked and
norm line with the top up and locked. (Hope I don't have that backwards. At 74 it's pretty easy to do.)
