Find and splice ALL the chewed wiring before trying to fix anything. After the wiring repairs, see what is left then try to find and repair the remaining chewed wiring. If that doesn't fix everything, third try/repair might leave you with one or two actual equipment problems that can be tackled OR it should tell you something like part out the car.
