Hello Folks,
I technically signed up as a new member here in March of 2019. I posted a couple of times and then life, job, and grandchildren got the better job me. However, I am now back after 18 months with one less motorcycle and one more additional granddaughter.
I've been doing my Crossfire research and again I'm interested I think, in purchasing one. I've been reading and watching everything available and of course there is plenty of bad to go with the good.
I've been a Miata guy for the past twenty years and they are a lovely car in many ways. I had a couple. But as I got older I was just losing interest in pushing hard and my wife didn't care for the "sports car" edge mine had either. All my other cars are Toyotas, Hondas and Mazdas. And frankly, I've been taken in by the bullet-proof nature of these cars. I've never been a Chrysler fan at all....except the Crossfire. I love the looks of the car and really prefer the coupe over the roadster...which is slightly odd since my love affair with Miatas.
Lastly, I've actually emailed a couple of people here who also are members of the Facebook group. Mostly looking for people in my neck of the woods here in Gainesville, GA. USA. I also snuck into your event at Deals Gap last weekend just to see a couple of cars in the flesh....you were easy to find. I have attended 16 Miata events there and it is a unique place for car and bike enthusiasts, that's for sure. I was able to chat with a few people I met and everyone was very helpful and friendly. In particular, I met a nice guy whose name I think...was Bob. He's from Lafayette, IN, gave me a Crossfire business card and answered a lot of my questions. Nice guy!
I have to be honest and say that I'm still a bit concerned about the Crossfire reputation for being less than reliable...particularly with the electronics. I do all my own maintenance but I'm not really an accomplished mechanic and I know even less about electronics. So, I'm doing my homework and will probably be looking for a lower milage car or one that has had all it's issues addressed already.
That's enough. I'm looking forward to hanging out here a bit more and learning all I can before I pull the trigger. Thanks, I hope I can add something of value here.
