It was NOT too difficult to remove the entire pump assembly. There is a great video that helped a lot. (link: )

Once the pump and assembly was removed - easy to reach into the fender well and locate the (dropped) drain plug.

I would recommend being careful not to drop the drain plug - save yourself some trouble.
