Default Re: Best Chrysler for Racing

It depends on what type of racing that you plan to do. I autocross a 2005 base Crossfire. I chose the base model because of what it lacks that the limited model has. First, it has a manual transmission, no TPS, manual seat, no subwoofer, and weighs the least of all Crossfires. It has enough power and plenty of low-end torque, which is essential to autocrossing. I have 17x7.5 aftermarket rims in front and 18x9 aftermarket rims on the back (weight saving). What I don't like is the fact that the top speed in second gear is 59 mph, which is fine for courses on small lots, but sucks if the course is on a big lot. I plan to get 275/40 fires (which are .7 inch taller) in the future, which should give me a few more mph's in second gear. I also don't like that the Honda Civic Type Rs are in the same class (D Street). However, it's a fun car to autocross.
