I have seen members posts where they used a special built battery or a smaller AGM battery, that left a portion in the battery tray that might be used for additional electrical stuff. Then there are the members who moved the battery to the hatch area for whatever reason (weight distribution?). What are you adding to the car that would need close to 300 amps? If a stereo system, I have seen a dedicated POS/NEG brought to the hatch where they fed the system but never seen where they added any circuit protection at the battery (not my gig but that setup would have to be careful of a battery/car meltdown if any POS wire chaffing occurred).
