Not true, the illumination module is plug and play. I have a US car with Canadian module and DRL's work automatically. This has been discussed many times, many years ago.
Two posts in succession by Canadians saying that the proper switch version (illumination module) is all that is required to get daytime running lights running and you are said to be in error.
The switches are plug and play, I have the switch numbers somewhere.
As I said the daytime running light circuitry is in the Canadian switch.
