I think I initially found a thread or two on the topic so a search could help you..
I ended up getting to the socket from under the passenger side of the console. If memory serves me, I was able to get my large hand up to the socket. This stresses the plastic of the center console quite a bit and was risky. Before getting to the socket you need to pop the side panel outward where there's a fragile retaining arm that protrudes from the side. Once this was dislodged I was able to get to the socket from the bottom and push it up enough to use a plastic trim tool from the top to lift the socket upward and out. Some lubricant helped at this point. Then, there's a little trick disconnecting the connector because it goes on sideways. I highly recommend searching the topic thoroughly because the plastic is getting brittle. There may be some help on youtube as well as here.
