Oh, forgot about the time to extract--it's not quick--It typically takes me an hour end-to-end to do a full oil change that includes a new filter and 8 quarts of oil. (More time is needed if I spill any oil.)

Using the pump to extract 8 quarts of oil is much, much slower than draining oil via the pan's drain hole.I never timed it, but my memory says full extraction takes 20-30 minutes and requires periodic handle pushing to maintain extraction flow.
