Default Re: Broke My Fuel Door and have a few questions about the FIX

the door feels like it does not have the spring anymore. It will lock and unlock but it will not stay closed like before so I am assuming the spring somehow is broken. I am using velcro on the inside to keep it closed.

To remove the first thing I need to do is press the locking tab from the inside of the truck and push the cylinder outward toward the cap , correct?

What is the next step? How do I remove the large part that the hose goes to ? Does it fall out once the other part is removed?

After I get that out they I have to 4 locking tabs to push down so the entire part will separate from the car and I can see the spring area I assume, is that correct?
so the 2nd step of getting the part with the hose attached is where I am stuck at this point. I will consider cutting the air hose to avoid damage. I have the rear panels out so I want to get this fixed and enjoy the car.

Thanks for the help. GG in TN
