Almost all the symptoms you describe can be attributed to a bad CLP/SSM. That is, your items 1 to 4, but not 5, all can be caused by a bad CLP/SSM.
It 'looked' OK - I will double check - also the fact the central locking works fine from the internal button leads me to think its OK (maybe wrongly!)
