The car has keys. I have not seen the car in person, so I do not know what, exactly, the no-start condition is. I am going by the owners statement that it is probably a relay issue.

I was thinking I could turn the ignition to "run" and if necessary to "start" and press the remote start switch to engage the starter. Either it would start or not.

Is there enough room to access the wires attached to the starter solenoid?
