One thing I heard is mice/rats like to be within 10-20 feet from a food source in regards to their nest. Make sure your vehicle is as far away from potential food sources as you can, such as a dumpster or trash cans.

There are some organic (non-toxic) types sprays that apparently they don't like either, you can spray your parking area down prior to parking there, do it every few weeks or so.
