You can remove it and or replace it. If you unplug it all will be well. It is located in the center, under the cowl in front of the windshield. There are also drains in there that need to be cleaned periodcly.
If you decide to replace the siren just do it by having the cowl off once, out with the old in with the new and clean the drains of which there are four when you do it.
