When the top is locked down (D-Ring) the cam pushes up and closes the switch (opening the connection)
That is exactly opposite of how the switch functions.
You can connect the 2 switch wires together without the switch and the top will function normally,
you have to be SURE not to press the top down switch until after you have released the top from the header and raised the front portion.
I have done this in the case of a broken switch, so I am speaking from experience.
