Chrysler never made the switch, someone took an off the shelf item and had a run made with their or part number on it. This would be odd, normally it would have a Mercedes number on it. Usually parts do not carry the Chrysler number, just the Mercedes one.
Photos would help or a word from the guru pizzaguy.
The Mercedes number is so it can go on a list of standard Mercedes part designs, parts made for the Crossfires start with a number that corresponds to the Mercedes numbering system eg. A 193 XXX XX XX.
