No, it does not make them super loud but it will sound better. I left the resonator and muffler in place
- It will increase performance
- It will sound better
But
- You will have to get the Oxygen sensors coded out
- You will notice a raw fuel smell at idle
Symptoms; (appear to be exactly what you are experiencing)
Lagging acceleration, a great deal of hesitation, Engine failure. It starts intermittently and gets worse, quickly. It can happen just by driving the car, that's what happened to me. The upper cats age and the Interiors of them begin to fracture and crumble. This plugs the cat which in turn does not allow for exhaust gas to exit. All it takes is a tap on the side of the catalytic converter to start the slide into chaos
I removed all 4 (AFTER ONE FAILED ON A LONG ROADTRIP Calgary to san Diego, Lots of F-words on that day)
Failure occurred on Drivers side, upper Cat plugged up and forced me to the side of the road. I couldn't locate a shop that would short term repair it with a straight pipe it so I had to get the failed Cat replaced before I could depart the service center and the State. Upon returning home, I ordered the Cat delete kit from Needswings. I just checked the Needswings site and didn't see them but if you're interested in this route, call Rob at Needswings directly
Before you go this route, best to check with your Provincial or state regulations.
Wishing you success is either avenue of repair. Please let us know how it works out.
Don't delay cause a plugged cat WILL LEAVE YOU STRANDED AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
