I will post pictures tomorrow but what i did was , i took AC ducting tape, u know the one that has the chrome on the back side, used for your AC ducts ,, I pealed the chrome off , cut the foam tape 1/2" wide ,made it 14" long but trimmed it to fit inside the door pull handle where the chrome always peels and cuts the tips of your fingers. now i put that tape inside bottom 1/2 of the chrome handle to cover all the split pieces that were trying to cut my fingers.
I had to remove it a few times to get it in the right place, it comes off easy and sticks the second and third times and more. i have had it on my car for a month now and it works.. i do plan to remove the door pull handle and repair it or have it rechromed.
