up like a xmas tree! The only thing they could read as a code was power failure. Maybe check the SKREEM. Best of luck.
So if I am understanding you right, the "mystery no start" (repaired by doing this RCM replacement), is the case where the engine doesn't make a sound at all. Is that correct?
I thought I read here as well that the crankshaft sensor also doesn't make a sound when trying to start, but you are saying on your 07 that it did start to make a vroom sound and then die quickly, and it was your crankshaft position sensor? Just verifying this is what you are saying. Thanks.
Edit: I am pretty sure mine is the SKREEM issue. First and second time, tries to star and shuts off, third time nothing. Disconnect battery, wait a bit, reconnect, rinse and repeat.
Only two things cause me to question this.
1. I had hit a curb two blocks before I got to the parking lot. (Didn't notice having any problem getting to the parking lot after I hit the curb.)
2. Within a few seconds of stopping the car, before getting out of the car etc., I tried to restart because I had forgotten something at home. It was on this restart where the problem happened.
So, perhaps this is a clue to what causes the SKREEM issue? Bump or immediate restart?
A third thing. I just started to have the sticky key issue. Never noticed it before brother in law had it happen to him driving my car a couple of weeks ago, and it has happened to me twice now while trying to restart. This may be a particular key fob though. Today when testing it did the two try to start then stop. Third try I couldn't turn the key. Took my other key and it turned, but with the nothing happens result.
