Welcome over to the dark side There's a lot of complaints about recirculating ball steering box, but IMHO, that is not the problem with the steering, but rather the more traditional steering box and linkage system, vs rack and pinion. Now, having said that, the steering is far better than people credit it for, and it seems more like car critics needed something to complain about on the R170. Sure, the steering is a bit more vague than a rack and pinion, but it is also smoother, and less prone to severe bumpsteer (provided the rest of the suspension geometry is correct).
